There are very important proposals out for public comment that relate to different elements of the
BDCP and the DRMS Phase 2 actions to replumb water conveyance through the Delta.
Affected Delta residents need to comment on all of these actions as all of them have the potential
to destroy freshwater access and limit rights and also can seriously degrade the prime farm lands
of the North Delta.  Here are links and public notice/comment periods:

USACE BARRIERS PROPOSAL  comment period:  4/1/2014 TO 4/16/2014

http://www.spk.usace.army.mil/Media/RegulatoryPublicNotices/tabid/1035/Article/22891/spk-2014-00187-emergency-drought-barriers-project.aspx
The barriers were proposed by MWD in 2007.  Effect of the Steamboat and Sutter Slough barriers is to split the Delta into an east side and a west side.  West of the barriers there will eventually be brackish water for “fish habitat” in the areas where “restoration” will include fracking activities.
