Invasive aquatic plant species of the Delta
One of the very obvious impacts from increased water exports from the Delta is the resulting infestation of floating water weeds.
This page provides copies of studies and links to data regarding past reports and efforts to control the different types of water weeds in the Delta.  Note that DWR and USBR have been exporting record amounts of Sacramento River water to other areas of the state over the last several years, and brackish water is beginning to encroach into some West Delta areas as of October 2014

"Restoration" sites appear to be the first places the water hyacinth really started to grow over the last few years in the Delta.

The slideshow below seems to promote increasing salinity in the Delta as a "treatment" for the invasive aquatic species-or another excuse to
divert the fresh water of the Sacramento River as shown by the
map on the left showing the effects of the proposed flows on
Steamboat and Sutter Sloughs for 2014 if "barriers" were
installed.
