Snug Harbor is on an Island; there are limited ways to reach us. Please note the following recommendations and adjust your travel plans accordingly. Google will route you through impassable, low clearance, bridges.
If you are towing an RV or driving an RV taller than 12 feet…
The best route is to pick up Highway 84 (Jefferson Blvd/Courtland Rd) in West Sacramento and follow it all the way to the island. From West Sacramento take Hwy 84 (Jefferson Blvd) South to Courtland Road. Turn Rt and travel 6.1 miles until you cross Miner Slough Bridge (Stay left at the fork just before the bridge and then turn right onto the bridge). Turn Left after crossing bridge and travel 7.8 miles to Snug Harbor.
From Rio Vista, Elk Grove, or Southern California…
The easiest way to get to the island from the East, West, or South is to use one of the 2 Ferries (The J-Mack or the Real McCoy) that CalTrans provides. Check with CalTrans to see if either or both of their ferries are currently running (service is sporadic).
If the ferries are not running: take I-5 to the Twin Cities Exit. Turn West (Left) 4.4 miles to River Rd. Turn Rt 4.6 miles to Courtland Bag Bridge (crossing the Sacramento River). Turn Rt on Sutter Slough Bridge Rd. Travel 1.4 miles to Courtland Rd. Turn Left on Courtland Road 7 miles until you cross Miner Slough Bridge (Stay left at the fork just before the bridge and then turn right onto the bridge). Turn Left after crossing the bridge and travel 7.8 miles to Snug Harbor.
